ffmpeg is required

The agent shells out to ffmpeg to record and to sample frames; it is not bundled. Install it first — apt install ffmpeg, or the official Windows build on PATH — then run sentry doctor, which checks for it explicitly.

After installing

Create a config, then find the cameras: sentry discover-cameras --user <onvif-user> --add
Enrol the device against this site with the pairing code from the dashboard.
Check everything: sentry doctor
Start recording: sentry run

Verify what you downloaded

Every artefact above lists its SHA-256. Check it before installing — a truncated download over a shop connection is far more common than a tampered one, and both fail the same test. The machine-readable list is at /download/manifest.json.
